Speak of the Devil
Hellomean. The new album is out now.Hard rock, punk and hip hop from Vancouver, BC
About
Say the name out loud and a fiery set erupts. Speak of the Devil is a hard hitting rock three piece that builds a full sonic wall from just drums and one guitar, rooted in old school metal, punk and modern rock, with high energy vocals that come straight out of rap and hip hop.
Jinx Stringer crafted his full bodied guitar tone in bands like Brand New Unit. Together with longtime friend and drummer Joe Party, his partner in Burn Hollywood Burn, he brings the kind of rock you come to expect from players who have done it for years. Jinx's old high school mate Chad Bechard, formerly of Big City Groove, brings the stylish, high energy vocals. Put the three of them together and the chemistry lines up.
Their influences run from Motörhead to Public Enemy, but the goal stays the same: infectious hooks and deadly riffs that leave the room chanting the band's name for more. Recent shows include direct support for Danko Jones at the Pearl and three opening spots for marquee nights at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles in 2025.
